Uh oh, we're in trouble

In just the last couple of days, Fidget has learned some new tricks. She now closes AND opens doors all by herself. We have the type of door handle throughout the house that is essentially a lever connected to the latch cylinder (there should be no confusion as to who wrote this one, says Mommy). Fidget is now tall enough to reach and smart enough to pull the lever down to open the door. That means she can get outside if Mommy and Daddy leave the front door unlocked, or into the closet or bathroom. The only thing saving us right now is that she seems to be a "righty" (Dad is a little disappointed, but glad she has both to use) and so she's using her left hand to steady herself - usually by pushing on the door that she needs to pull to open.

We recorded "Classical Baby" on the DVR off of HBO Family and it has become a hit with Fidget. It is a combination of art and music. One segment that she particularly likes is a Jackson Pollack painting with two bees flying about while "Flight of the Bumblebee" plays as the background music. Fidget lets us know she wants to hear it by "bzzzz"ing like a bee. We now have "fish" upstairs on the computer and "bees" in the basement. So, with either a violent swimming motion or frantic buzzing, she lets us know whether to go upstairs or downstairs.

Speaking of "uh oh's," Fidget has now commits premeditated "uh oh's" in her own twisted little game. She says "uh oh" and THEN drops or sometimes throws objects, like Kitty, to the ground. Then she waits to see who is gullible enough to pick the object up so that we can play again...and again...and again. If we don't pick it up fast enough, she reminds us that it "dropped" by pointing and saying "uh oh" again. Fidget was busy testing a babysitter last night with this routine. As far as we know, this game was played right through bedtime...we came home and found both sound asleep. Trust us, this game is exhausting!!!
