Continuing with the Broadway Theme-- We had an offer we couldn't refuse: Disney on Broadway: buy one ticket, get the second for $15. Well, at that price, it was time to take Fidget to her first official Broadway show. She did so well at the high school production of Beauty and the Beast, we thought she could handle sitting through an entire show. So Fidget and Mommy headed off to NYC to see The Little Mermaid!
My friends, Carol and Nicole joined us, and thanks to Nicole, who knows someone who knows someone else... we got a backstage tour from the guy who ran the sound board for the show. Fidget is going to have a rude awakening when she realizes that this is not part of the normal routine!
Of course, we had to take our Ariel doll with us to the show!

Fidget, Aunt "Cole" and The Mermaid TailFidget was a little overwhelmed by the backstage at first. She wouldn't touch the Mermaid's tail even though she was given permission to do so. The rest of us were surprised by just how small the wing spaces were. We were in the Lunt Fontanne, which happens to be one of the smallest theatres in terms of backstage/wing space. It was so small that many of the costumes and props were on flies and stored overhead between scenes and shows. Pretty amazing set-up they had.

Ariel's Thingamabob (the large fork). I didn't realize, at the time I took this picture, that Fidget was actually scheming and planning her get away. She actually tried to commit Thingamabob robbery. After I took the picture, I turned around and saw her walking around with it in her hands.

Flounder actually introduced himself to us because he was really intrigued by Fidget's Ariel doll and wanted to know where she had gotten it. I don't know if he had a thing for dolls, Ariel, or just collecting Little Mermaid merchandise.
Fidget got to talk to one of Ariel's "sisters" outside after the show. This young woman made our entire day. She started the conversation with Fidget and talked with her for at least 10 minutes. So kind and sweet!
After the show, eating Guacamole, a taco, and drinking from her Little Mermaid cup.
