Run Forest...um Fidget....Run!

We had a brilliant plan. Saturday afternoon...Waveny Park....Picture time.

We can't seem to get decent snapshots of Miss Fidget. We like to blame the shutter speed on our camera. It's true, the shutter is incredibly slow. We need a new camera, but we also needed some good family shots as well. So, we decided to get the friend of a friend (who is a budding amateur photographer) to meet us at the park. She would follow us around and take some candid photos as well as some posed ones. It quickly became obvious that Fidget was not supportive of this plan.

She wanted nothing to do with posing. Ok, fine. We would be happy with some great candids. So, we let her down to explore the park. She wanted to run. So, run she did. For the better part of an hour, we let her run around in the park. Certainly the photographer could get some great shots. However, Fidget was not going to make it easy on her. Oh, no. Everytime the photographer would step in front of Fidget to take a picture, Fidget would turn and run the other direction. And when she'd turn, then she'd smile and laugh and clap. Yep, this was a very fun game. Honestly it was funny to watch her run and have so much fun at the park, but what an exercise in frustration!!!

We had friends there for the same purpose. So, we took a break and let the photographer take pictures of the other two families while we fed Fidget and then let her run some more. Certainly after eating and running she would be more agreeable and maybe even sit still for a posed picture. UH...NO! So, we called it a day. We figured that somewhere in that hour there might be a few decent snaps of the kid. Well, I just got an email from the photographer. She wants to reschedule...as there's not really anything that she thinks we'll be happy with.

AAAHHHH!!!

lol..... we are hatching the same kids!!! (I have had people from time to time be very kind and say to me that I am "talented" with my camera. But what they don't see is the, literally, 45 shots it took to get the one halfway decent one!) BUT, the good thing about Fidget is that no matter what, she's beautiful anyway!

Just to be clear - I don't really think I'm that skilled with a camera. Your brother... THAT'S talented. Me - I get lucky from time to time.
