Boyfriends and Books and Thanksgiving

If Fidget's social life now is any indication of what we have coming in the teen years, we are in trouble. This girl has a boyfriend in every playgroup and now in Music Together. It really is adorable to watch. She has a boyfriend at church who is fascinated by her blonde straight hair, his is curly and dark , and he loves to follow her around and when she stops to play with something, he just stands behind her and strokes her hair. She has one in our weekly playgroup, whom I've mentioned before. She's a kisser, and he's a hugger, and they usually end up toppling all over each other, as they try to give each other xoxos. But he has helped teach her how to hug, and she is now a great little hugger, which Mommy and Daddy just love. And last week in music class, she began to draw the attention of a much older young man (J). He's at least 3 if not 4 years old, and he has an 8 month old little sister who comes to class with him, so he's very gentle with smaller kids. Last week he would come up to Fidget and say, "Tickle, Tickle" and try to tickle her. She loved his attention, but she was coy with him too...leaning in to him as if to kiss him and then as he leaned in to hug her, she'd pull away and run across the room squealing. She had so much fun playing with him.

Well, today J peeked his head around the door to see who was in the room, and when he saw Fidget he called her name and ran over to her, and the games began again. They played and hugged and chased each other for the entire class.

Oh, and the "books" part: Also in music class today, Fidget walked over to another kid and put her little hands together in front of her and then opened them. This is the sign for book. I had been working with her on this particular sign last week, but I just didn't think she got it. Yet, today, out of the blue, she is trying to teach another kid the sign. Well, I guess she was trying to teach it, or at least ask for a book, but there were no books in sight.
