Muppets is not our only obsession. Fidget has proven herself to be all girly girl with a love for all things that are Disney Princess, particularly anything dealing with The Little Mermaid and Cinderella. We have a fairy tale book that has both of these stories, and one or both of them must be read before she will go to sleep (not to mention 10 other times a day). And as we reach the end of the stories, Fidget ends them for us with these words:
Happy After. Dee Ehnd!!!!
You know where she got "happy after," but MAC would always tag on "The End." So, Fidget picked that up from him.
I'll hear this randomly throughout the day, too. If Fidget is in her room playing with her kitty, she'll tell him a story and end it with that phrase, or if she's listening to her "mermaid music" (translation: The Little Mermaid soundtrack), she'll say it when the last song plays.
And this is a perfect example of why I'm so intrigued by the nature vs. nurture argument. Of course, we did introduce her to the fairy tales by reading from the book, but her fascination with them and all things pertaining to princessess just seems to be something in her nature. She asks for them to be read over and over. However, hearing the stories over and over again taught her the classic fairy tale ending she so loves to parrot--and one we love to hear her say so sweetly--even if it just helps to further prove Pavlovian theory.

Interesting - I have the same questions. We introduced a Bob the Builder book a couple of years ago to B. Today, he is still fascinated with all kinds of trucks, tools, and "dirt digging equipment". No sports yet - which is driving mommy crazy!!! But he is all boy when it comes to his other interests.
