Linus!

Our little mister finally gave us his own nickname. Around Thanksgiving the little guy suddenly became very attached to a blanket, a la Linus from The Peanuts. He sleeps with it, and then he carries it with him once we get him out of his crib in the mornings. He drags it behind him as he toddles around the house. He has to have it with him in the car and wherever we go. He snuggles with it when we rock him. He cuddles with it when we put him down to sleep. And when he gets most upset, he likes to rub it against his nose or cheek to soothe himself.

But as the weeks have passed, the constant need for the blanket has waned somewhat. The blanket has to be around. We have to know where it is, but it's strictly on stand-by for those as-needed moments.

We have one that is attached to a blanket - so much so that we have two of the same blanket. Idea was to leave one at daycare and one at home - so we didn't have to worry about leaving it one place or the other. Problem is, our little one is too smart for her own good and now knows she has 2 blankets and most often requests 2 blankets for bedtime!!

We are familiar with this routine. Fidget had two "kitties" but eventually realized there were two, so the 2nd had to be out to share during playdates. Linus has adopted Fidget's kitty, so there is usually one in the crib and one that is carried with the blanket. Linus is not big on giving kisses, but he gives Kitty kisses and then has Kitty kiss me or Dad or sister. It's sweet.
